Although a few more ‘campers’ would have been nice - those members and friends that made the relatively short hop over to Orwell for the EWF Camping Week-End certainly made sure they enjoyed themselves. This picture was taken when we all went out for Sunday Lunch. Due to a caravan hire booking mix-up at the site, Pat & I were only able to pop down for a day visit. Our booking apparently did not arrive and our £50 deposit cheque luckily was never presented. Since they only had one
hire van that

permits dogs and by that time it was already let - we could do nothing about it. By all accounts - a good time was had by all. Make a note of the 2010 date as soon as it is announced because it really is a friendly, enjoyable and relaxing weekend.

Those that went along to the Resource Centre in Chelmsford for the Tri-Comp & Quiz evening on Sat 24th Oct - (the evening that the clocks went back) had a good time. Dale Wyatt had put together a very varied and testing quiz that took place whilst Shirley & Alan Downes judged the Tri-Comp (Wine - Beer & Cookery) entries. By the mid-way point - everybody was glad to give their grey matter a bit of a rest and topped up their calories with some refreshments. At the end of the questions - which included Cheese & wine tasters, we were ready to hear who had been successful in the Tri-Comp classes that was being judged whilst the quiz took place.

The Annual Draw winners were to be picked and I as last year’s winner of the £100, Chairman David Bracci asked me to draw the first ticket. Try as I might, I did not manage to find one of my own tickets as I had done 12 months earlier - but I did manage to bring out a ticket belonging to table companion Les Hopper instead !.
